NY Cash Bail Reform: Aggressive Panhandler Assaults TWO Women, is Immediately Released
“Liberalism is a mental disorder” is a common saying in the conservative community. While this is obviously overstated and paints all liberals with a broad brush, the origins of the saying are developed from the practical effect of liberal policies. See the following story:
Eugene Webb (pictured above), a known panhandler, punched a woman with such force, she lost two teeth. Thanks to new leftist “cash bail reform” laws, effective January 2020, he was immediately released. Webb went back on the street and attacked ANOTHER woman, punching and kicking the back of her head. He was immediately released after this attack. THEN he was caught panhandling in an aggressive manner in front of a Chase Bank. He proceeded to run from the officers. When he was caught by the police, he was found with K2 (a synthetic narcotic) and a pipe. Prosecutors attempted to detain Webb with $10,000 cash bail. Guess what happened? Webb got out on “supervised release.”
Other laws that criminals can break and avoid cash bail include Criminal Anarchy, Aggravated Harassment, Public Lewdness, Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in Motor Vehicle, Conspiracy to Commit Rape, Arson, Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, Stalking and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Circulation (choking). Unfortunately, this is only the beginning of the list.
As a conservative, I believe crime should be prosecuted. We should detain and lock up criminals. We should have common sense. Passing insane laws & policies for the sake of “social justice” is detrimental to productive citizens, communities and states
